Restoration of fine antiques at

Green Spot antiques

In our workshop we restore and salvage antiques of all sorts.

View Snapshots of Before/After pictures of some of our work.

Below you will see some detailed Before/After pictures of a few featured projects.

Please view our workshop pictures for a taste of the odds and ends needed for restoration of all the OLD things we love.

Restoring fine antiques since 1979 and loving it!

Here are two samples of our Before and After on two very rough projects.  We can handle any type of restoration job, from the early 1600's through to Retro 60's style.  Our training in Europe has prepared us well for all forms of furniture, and all styles of finishes.

We are very happy to announce our bright new workshop is now open, (whew, after 4 months closed, it feels good to get back to restoring good old stuff again).  Here are some pictures showing our fine new  SECOND location at 49 Cedar Street comprised of workshop and showroom.

Our first official project from the workshop is a very fine mahogany tea cart.

The picture on the left shows what it looked like before we started. It had a couple of ugly coats of white paint hiding the wonderful mahogany wood.

Now seen on the right.

The cart came out a wonderful ribbon mahogany colour. This is a fine Gibbard tea cart, complete with original wooden wheels, in wonderful shape overall.

It has been "french polished" to enable the owner to appreciate the full colour and fine grain of this excellent wood.

_hoosier_before_002.jpg
_hoosier_before_002.jpg

Here is a fine old hoosier cabinet, in pretty rough state. It is missing a door, the roll top is broken, and it has various layers of paint over the old OAK!

J.D purchased this cupboard  from Green Spot, and entrusted it to our workshop.

The same hoosier, now fully restored .

J.D.'s trust was repaid with a fine addition to her home.

Customers with vision and trust always appreciate the good buys they make in the "rough" and when a job is too big for them to handle we are always there for them.

Another project piece.  A fine 19th century bookcase in very rough condition, missing doors, veneer work required, and general cleanup of finish.

E.M. (real customer) required doors and restoration throughout.

The bookcase was restored using old walnut/mahogany doors, and all parts as old as the original.  Colour and finish were matched up perfectly, as were the constructino details.

This piece could pass "vetting" even at an antique show now, as "all original", or nearly.

E.D. Was extremely happy to see the results, and so are we.

This one turned out even better  than we envisioned, thanks to our large stock of antique woods in our workshop, it allowed us to create doors as good as original.
